During Winter Break, Strozier Library’s basement and sub-basement experienced water damage due to an air handler coil freezing. Due to this, our services here at Special Collections & Archives will be altered for the Spring 2023 semester.
Thankfully, we did not lose any collections or sustain significant collections damage in the flood. Damage to flooring, flood related renovations, and our collections review and rehousing process will impact the availability of some collections and the time it may take us to retrieve material.
Reading Rooms
Our reading rooms will be closed for our usual walk-in hours and materials from our collection will only be available for viewing by appointment. While our spaces are being repaired, we will be holding all appointments and classes in the Claude Pepper Library. We ask for two weeks notice for appointments; if you are interested in scheduling an appointment with us, please use our appointment request form or email lib-specialcollections@fsu.edu.
Reference Questions
Because we are not open for walk-in hours, all reference questions should be sent to our general email at lib-specialcollections@fsu.edu, we will get back to you as soon as possible!
Classes
Instruction sessions will still be available this semester. While our usual instruction space is being repaired, all classes will take place in the Claude Pepper Library in the Claude Pepper Center at 636 W. Call Street.

Donations
We are not currently accepting new donations but will resume as soon as we are able to. We are happy to talk with you about your potential donation. Please contact us at lib-specialcollections@fsu.edu with all Special Collections & Archives donation questions.
We appreciate your patience as we navigate these circumstances. If you have questions about Special Collections & Archives or need assistance with your research or instruction, please contact lib-specialcollections@fsu.edu.
